Cimstone

Introduction

Cimstone from Europe is amongst top 5 leading manufacturers of Quartz Stones in the world.

Quartz stones are also called reconstituted, engineered, agglomerate or composite stones.

Cimstone at its factory in Turkey uses state of art Italian Breton Technology to produce Cimstone incorporating 93 % quartz in its stone, thus making its strength, almost double than granite.

Cimstone is highly stain and scratch resistant; no need for repolishing as well. It is as good as new till its lifetime; you will only remove it when you are bored of the colour.

Besides its use as a Kitchen or Reception Counter, Cimstone is highly  recommended for flooring areas where there is high traffic like Shopping Malls, Airports, Metro Stations etc

Cimstone has NSF certification as its absorption is max. 0.1 % , therefore, it is also recommended for Hospitals & Laboratories where hygiene and cleanliness are of a prime concern.

Hong Kong Metro, Birmingham & Auckland Airports, Ferrari, Mark & Spenser etc. are the leading entities who have chosen to use Cimstone in their prestigious projects around the world.

QDI – Stone: 6 mm UV stable quartz engineered stone‏

QDI – Stone 6 mm Quartz Reconstituted Stone

Introduction

QDI-STONE is a 6 mm Quartz reconstituted stone for use on walls and floors , both internally and externally.

Other quartz reconstituted stones have  polyester resin due to which they cannot be used externally as they get damaged by UV rays. QDI-STONE is made with 90 % Quartz mixed with UV stable acrylic resin , therefore it is suitable for external areas facing sun.

Quartz is one of the most hardest mineral on earth. On MoH scale its rating is # 7 while Diamond is # 10

Being very thin, only 6 mm, it is very good for areas like lift floors where you require a tough stone with minimum thickness

Being lightweight and thin, It can be directly installed  on existing surfaces, thus saving you demolition costs, saving time during refurbishment and also solving your design restrictions.

Like Acrylic Solid Surfaces this stone can be thermal molded, therefore it can also so be used to clad round columns.

FSI Anti Slip Holland

FSI Anti Slip Holland

Introduction

FSI from Holland is patented and one of a kind anti slip system in the world. It is a transparent non slip solution for bathrooms, Spas , Kitchens, Saunas, Swimming Pools, Airports, Shopping Malls etc. or any wet area where slipperiness due to water or moisture is a great safety concern.

The treatment does not affect the original appearance of the tiles so the result cannot be seen but it can certainly be felt.

The system can be applied in 10 minutes and non slip performance stays for 3 years or more. The application is also very simple, just like mopping a floor and can be done by one of your maintenance staff.

How does system work?

image002This is an untreated surface: All Tiled / Stone surfaces have very fine pores, which means that the surface remains wet for longer causing you to slip.

image003Our 3-step anti-slip system adheres to the pores on the tile /stone’s surface.

image004Surfaces treated with the anti-slip system reacts immediately to any type of moisture and produces a inhibiting effect, i.e. a high coefficient of friction, thus preventing you from slipping.

Mother of Pearls

Mother of Pearls

Introduction:

Mother of Pearl (Lido, Pittiperla,Poloperla): This natural product (mostly calcium carbonate) is unpredictable in composition and needs extra care. The mother of pearl shell is softer than the Quartz material and may react with acids. Avoid acids and acidic cleaners on these models (Neutral cleaners or alcohol are best used to clean). Acidic foods such as lemon or tomato juice, Vinegar, red wine, yogurt etc. should not be left on these surfaces and should be wiped off as quickly as possible. It is not uncommon for some smaller pieces to dislodge from the slab. This does not constitute a defect and the void can be filled with a suitable material.

The Mother of Pearl is an extremely beautiful mineral that is created by living organisms. Mother of Pearls are considered an organic mineral and created by mollusks, either oysters or abalones. These mollusks secrete fine proteins whose chemical compound is calcium carbonate, the same that is found in marble and aragonite.

Mother of Pearls usually secretes calcium carbonate in extremely thin platelets or building blocks that are less than half a micro meter in length. While Mother Pearls are usually a glossy or very shiny white, they can also be a slight gray or iridescent color. The reason for the Mother of Pearls iridescence is because the platelet structure is the same size as the light waves that reflect from it.

The Mother of Pearls while only in white, and sometimes gray are extremely beautiful and used for lots of high quality products. For instance, they can be used chopped up as part of tiles for flooring, it is also used for coating sinks and was once used extensively for buttons on jackets, coats and shirts.

Today, you can find Mother of Pearl on high priced luxurious items such as canes, fine musical instruments, top luxury watches as dials and other designer uses. It should be noted that when handling Mother of Pearl, you should be careful with it and make sure not to expose it to solvents, extreme temperatures or rough handling, it can chip in certain instances. Usually the best way to clean Mother of Pearl is with simple warm water and some dish washing liquid soap.

Mother of Pearl is wonderful mineral that is created by living organisms. It is usually called an organic mineral. There are only a few organisms that can create Mother of Pearl, one being oysters and the other abalones. Mother of pearl is created by the Mollusk secreting a substance that is calcium carbonate, or CACO3. This substance is similar to the composition of marble and aragonite.

Platelets of calcium carbonate are secreted by the Mollusk and built upon a specific structure that is less than .5 micrometers thick. This makes for an extremely silky texture and in many cases causes the Mother of Pearl to have an iridescent appearance. The reason for this appearance is because the width of the platelet structure is the same width as many light waves.

Mother of Pearl is secreted by specific cells in the mollusk called the epithelial cells. This substance is primarily secreted to protect itself from parasitic organisms. The substance of Mother of Pearl is the same substance created when an oyster forms a pearl. Usually a parasite or foreign material gets into the oyster and the oyster is unable to remove it. It uses its secretions of calcium carbonate in the process called encystations to cover the particle. The particle is covered in many concentric layers. This particle is present within the oyster for the rest of the oyster’s life.

Besides fine jewelry, Mother of Pearls is used as a home product for floor tiles, as a material on fine instruments and even as the watch hands for some luxury watches. Mother of Pearl can be found in many regions including Japan, Australia, Europe and the United States.
